Plug in or Wire in – THAT is the question…

It’s a question we’re often asked. Which is the best Galvanic Isolator… a Plug in one or a Wire in.

Do in line galvanic isolators work better than wire in galvanic isolatorsAnd the answer is…. they’re exactly the same. You’ll get exactly the same high degree of protection from a Plug in as you’ll get from a Wire in isolator. That’s because internally, they’re identical.

So simply choose whichever is more convenient for you. There is one small caveat though…. if you choose a Wire in Galvanic Isolator, it absolutely MUST be wired in correctly. Many aren’t. Even on brand new boats. And as they say… “If it ain’t wired right, it won’t work right” 🙂

If you’re in any doubt about yours, check out the installation instructions for wire in isolators HERE. Even if your isolator in’t one of ours, the principle’s exactly the same.

And if you’re STILL not quite certain, remember that you can always fit a Plug in Galvanic Isolator even if you already have a Wire In type fitted. That way, you’ll be 100% sure you’re protected. Plug In Isolators are HERE.
