Prevent Galvanic Corrosion This Winter
The days are getting cooler and the evenings darker, so thoughts naturally turn to winter lay-up. Hopefully there is still plenty of boating to enjoy before then — but if your boat will be spending the winter plugged into shore power in a marina, don’t forget that you’ll need galvanic corrosion protection, better known as a “Galvanic Isolator”.
A galvanic isolator helps protect your boat from corrosion caused by stray low-voltage DC currents travelling through the shore-power earth connection. Simply plug it into one end of your shore-power lead and it works continuously while you’re connected.
It takes a few seconds to fit, requires no alteration to your boat, and provides protection year after year.
Not sure which isolator you need? Our quick selector will recommend the right model for your boat in just a few simple questions — no calculations or guesswork.
