There are two main types of Galvanic Isolator to protect your boats hull from Corrosion – Plug In and Wire In.
So which one works best?
In fact, they both do EXACTLY the same job, and give the same level of protection.
The Plug in type is incredibly easy to install. You just plug it into the end of your mains hook up cable. Also, if you’re not technically skilled choose this type. There’s NOTHING to “get wrong”.
The Wire in type is pretty simple to install, but you DO need to work on your boat’s electrical system. The plug in isolator fits inside your boat, so it can’t get damaged or stolen. And it’s also a very cost effective option.
So what’s our personal recommendation??? Plug In.
A Plug In Galvanic Isolator is what we have on our boat (a 60ft steel narrowboat). But of course, the choice is yours. If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call. 0757 807 3490.
