Not everyone can use their boat year-round. If you’re storing your boat for the winter, it makes good sense to keep it plugged in to charge the batteries etc. But the same electrical connection that’s keeping your batteries healthy could also be rotting a hole in the hull, or corroding the prop.

When your boat is connected to shore power, small electrical currents flow through the ground wire. These “Galvanic” currents can cause serious damage by corroding a boat’s underwater metalwork. It’s a slow but relentless process that can cost thousands of pounds to repair.

A circuit breaker can not stop Galvanic currents from flowing. Only Galvanic isolation can stop these damaging “Corrosion Currents”, and the simplest solution is a plug in Galvanic isolator.
