It’s great that the weather is finally warming up, but the bad news is that when the temperature warms up, galvanic corrosion, (that’s corrosion caused by galvanic currents), happens more aggressively. That’s because it’s an “endothermic” reaction – it takes heat in from it’s surroundings.
Well, we can’t do much about the temperature, but we CAN stop galvanic currents from flowing in the first place with a simple galvanic isolator.
A galvanic isolator works by blocking the galvanic currents that flow along your electric hookup cable, and cause corrosion to the metalwork on your boat whether that’s the hull, outboard, Saildrive etc.
